If you want to buy prescription glasses online, it’s important to do a bit of research. This will ensure you get a frame that is comfortable and looks good on you.
Read on to find out which frames are suited to which face structures, and how to find out your measurements.
Certain frames suit particular face shapes better. Below are some guidelines you can follow when buying prescription glasses online.
It’s usually easy to find your existing measurements - most frames have a seven digit number on the inner arm:
A two-digit number between 40 and 62 = Your Eye Size
A two-digit number between 14 and 24 = Your Bridge Size
A three-digit number between 120 and 150 = Your Temple Size
Note: If you require bifocal or varifocal lenses, we may also need your lens depth measurement, in which case we will contact you.
We cannot take orders without these measurements. If your previous glasses do not have these measurements, you can calculate them yourself with a rule or tape measure. All three numbers are millimetre measurements.
However, you may find it easier to go into an opticians and get your measurements taken by a professional.
